2024 Back-to-School Care Fair

Join VB Schools and over 100 youth-serving organizations, agencies and school division departments for an informational and fun-filled day that gives families the opportunity to connect with valuable resources which promote youth development and well-being.

Electricity

About

This one year course covers safety, wiring, terminology, floor plan layouts and the National Electric Code. Students are instructed in the installation of power and lighting circuits, including 200 amp service and the materials used in new construction or remodeling. Students gain practical experience trouble-shooting electrical problems and reading blueprints. Students will prepare for the following credentials or certifications: Skills Connect Assessment (SkillsUSA)- Electrical Construction Wiring (Residential Wiring); and Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth Examination.
Are you a detailed person who loves to know how things work? Check out Electricity, a two-year, six credit program, where you will learn many of the skills the construction industry is seeking in qualified candidates! You will learn in a state-of-the-art lab equipped with tools, and you will even have the opportunity to help build a real house to be sold to benefit the education foundation!

In addition to going straight to the work force, our graduates have many options
after successfully completing their courses!

Internships

All students at the Tech Center have the option to obtain an internship towards the end of their experience here. The philosophy is that there is invaluable knowledge and experience to be gained working side-by-side with a professional in an actual environment.
