Where Nursing is both an art and a science:
If you want to make a true difference in the lives of others, check out Practical Nursing, an 18-month (three HS credit program) open to high school seniors and adults, where you will learn many of the skills the health profession is seeking in qualified candidates! You will learn in a state-of-the-art lab and on-site at hospitals for real clinical experiences. At the completion of the second nine months, successful graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination - PN, which will allow graduates to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Students will also prepare for the Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth Examination.Picture of nursing student

Established in 1972, VBSPN offers over 45 years of experience producing top quality nurses who serve the community locally, the military and abroad. Our small class sizes ensure that each student is afforded personalized attention with hands-on instruction in our state-of-the-art simulation lab and at various clinical facilities.

VBSPN is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, 9960 Maryland Dr. #300, Richmond, VA 23233, (804) 367-4515 through April 2031. VBSPN maintains certification from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to offer LP
N certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Virginia Beach City Public School System.  Further information about SCHEV certification process can be obtained via www.schev.edu.

Internships

All students at the Tech Center have the option to obtain an internship towards the end of their experience here. The philosophy is that there is invaluable knowledge and experience to be gained working side-by-side with a professional in an actual environment.
