North Landing Elementary School students teach School Administration Building employees about coding

The music of Harry Potter movies wafted through Room 113 at the School Administration Building as employees wandered into the debut “open house” hosted by the Office of Instructional Technology.

At the first station, Coordinator of Instructional Technology Charlie Hinsch was demonstrating how a Potter-themed Kano Wand could be coded to move a digital feather.

Other stations featured robots, drones, code.org tutorials on laptops and other activities, most manned by fifth-graders from North Landing Elementary School. Their visit was a preview of Computer Science Education week, a worldwide initiative which is being celebrated divisionwide through Friday.
