Pharmacy Tech 1 Program:
The Pharmacy Technician I program is a new one year program open to rising 12th graders. The program is a combination of coursework, lab work and experiential work. Upon completion of the program, the student will have the opportunity to sit for the PTCE (Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam), which offers a national certification. The program will offer a strong foundation in pharmacology, math, science, and pharmacy practice. This will enable the students to begin their career as a pharmacy technician with the skills needed to succeed or further their education in a variety of allied healthcare and medical fields including pharmacist, nursing, medical research and development, medical assistant and medical doctor.

Clinical Practical Experience:
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of work experiences in the community.

American Heart Association CPR/BLS with AED
Workplace Readiness Skills for the Commonwealth Exam
National Pharmacy Technician Certification – CPhT (upon successful completion of PTCE)
HIPPA certification

Admission Criteria:
All applicants will be scored using a rubric of readiness based on the preferred successful completion of the following high school courses: Algebra I and/or II, Biology and English 11.

2. Applications will be accepted for rising 12th
graders.
3. Acceptable grades, discipline and attendance
record.
4. Criminal background check and drug testing
required.
5. Students must meet CPR, health and
immunization requirements.
